Author’s POV
It had been a week since both the families got to know about Ruhi and Aayansh relationship.
A week since secrets turned into conversations, warnings, and surprisingly acceptance.
When Ruhi’s bade papa and chachu found out, there was initial shock, of course. But it didn’t take long for that shock to soften into something calmer. They had known Aayansh since he was a child. Their families went back years, bonded through trust, gatherings, and shared history. And most importantly Rishabh had already given his approval.
That mattered.
Still, being “chill” didn’t mean being careless.
The very same morning after breakfast, bade papa and chachu paid Aayansh a visit at his office. The conversation that followed was long, serious, and laced with quiet authority. They didn’t raise their voices. They didn’t threaten him outright.
They didn’t need to.
“If you ever hurt her,” bade papa had said calmly, eyes steady, you won’t just be answerable to Rishabh. You’ll be answerable to us.
Aayansh nodded without hesitation. He didn’t argue. He didn’t defend himself unnecessarily. He listened because he knew Ruhi was worth every warning.
Also when Aayansh finally told his family about dating Ruhi and got her family’s approval
The reaction?
Chaos. Happiness. Excitement.
The women of the Singhania household were over the moon. Plans were made instantly of visits, sweets, dates, and before Aayansh could blink, even wedding discussions started floating in the air.
“We should go to the Raichand house properly,”His Dadi said excitedly. “Ask for Ruhi’s hand,” his mom added. “Fix something before anyone else”
That’s when Aayansh stepped in.
He somehow managed to calm everyone down, explaining gently that they didn’t want to rush anything. That Ruhi and he wanted to take things slowly. That they wanted to go with the flow.
The excitement dimmed a little, but understanding replaced disappointment.
For the first time, both families were on the same page.
And for Ruhi and Aayansh life felt lighter.
Weeks passed beautifully.
They no longer had to hide glances, excuses, or smiles. They could meet openly, laugh freely, and be seen together without fear. Dates became normal. Calls became longer. Comfort grew deeper.
There were rules, of course.
Aayansh was strictly forbidden from coming to the Raichand house late at night.
That rule existed for a reason.
Once just once Rishabh had caught Aayansh climbing up the pipe toward Ruhi’s balcony. The look Rishabh had given him that night was enough to scar him for life.
That was the day Aayansh got officially banned from midnight balcony visits along with a very calm but terrifying warning from Ruhi’s brother.
Still… rules had loopholes.
If he couldn’t climb balconies, he could still take her on late night drives. Quiet roads, soft music, shared laughter, stolen moments under city lights.
Those nights became theirs.
No hiding. No fear.
Just two people in love learning how to belong to each other in a world that was finally watching, but no longer stopping them.
And somewhere between warnings, trust, and stolen smiles
Their story was only getting stronger.
Singhaniya Office
As Aayansh was working in his office, an invitation for his school reunion party popped up on his phone.
At first, he didn’t pay much attention to it. He wasn’t really in the mood to go. School memories felt distant, and right now his mind was filled with work and Ruhi.
But then his phone started buzzing.
Again. And again.
The old group chat had come alive.
The girls were already excited, sending voice notes and dramatic texts, planning an epic entry together. Aarav, as expected, was the loudest among them, completely determined to attend.
Back in school, their group had been famous.
Not only for trouble but for their bond.
They were known for their friendship, so strong that many envied them. People used to say it wouldn’t last. That once they grew up, they would drift apart. Some even waited for their first big fight.
But it never happened.
They argued, yes but they never stayed angry for long. And that irritated people even more. A few teachers, especially those who never liked them, had openly said their friendship was temporary.
Aarav still remembered that.
That was why he was adamant about going.
“I want to show them we’re still together,” he texted. “This is how real friendships are.”
Then he added, “And I really want to see our maths teacher’s face the one who used to scold me every day, telling me I’d never do anything in life.”
Aarav sent a laughing emoji before typing again.
“I want to look at him and say look at me now. I’m one of the most wanted models.”
The group burst into laughter.
Aditya chimed in next. “Well, now I want to go too,” he wrote. “I’ll show off that I married the same girl I loved back then and that I’m actually happy.”
“Shut up,” Riya replied immediately, followed by a laughing emoji.
And just like that, the chat turned nostalgic.
Old memories resurfaced. Inside jokes. Embarrassing moments. Stories that only they remembered. The laughter felt the same as it did back then easy and effortless.
By the end of it, the decision was made.
No excuses. No backing out.
They were going to the reunion together.
Just like always together.
………
Aayansh told Ruhi about the reunion that same evening.
They were sitting quietly, coffee forgotten between them, when he mentioned it casually like it didn’t matter much.
“There’s a school reunion,” he said. “The group is going.”
Ruhi’s eyes lit up instantly.
“A reunion?” she repeated, already excited. “With everyone?”
“Yes,” he nodded. “Unfortunately.”
She smiled wider. “That’s amazing, Aayansh!”
Before he could say anything else, she grabbed his hand and stood up.
“We need to go shopping.”
He blinked. “Why?”
She looked at him like he had just asked the most obvious question in the world.
“Because,” she said firmly, “you cannot go wearing those same black, grey, or navy suits you wear everywhere.”
He frowned. “What’s wrong with them?”
“Everything,” she replied dramatically. “You always look like you’re going to a board meeting
“It’s called class,style” he muttered.
“It’s called boring,” she corrected, already pulling him toward the door. “You’re wearing something new. Something… alive.”
Aayansh sighed. He already knew he was losing this battle.
……
They hadn’t even reached the mall when Ruhi excitedly texted Riya about the shopping plan.
Big mistake.
By the time they arrived, Riya had informed everyone.
Aditya. Aarav. And the rest of the chaos squad.
Aayansh realized what was happening the moment he saw them standing near the entrance, waving enthusiastically.
His shoulders slumped.
“This was supposed to be just us,” he murmured.
Ruhi looked at him guiltily. “I didn’t think they’d all come…”
“They always do,” he replied flatly.
Still when Ruhi slipped her fingers into his and smiled up at him, he couldn’t stay annoyed for long.
Inside the store, Ruhi was on a mission.
She picked up clothes one after another, holding them against Aayansh.
“No black.” “No grey.” “No navy.”
Aayansh stared at a pastel blue shirt in her hands like it had personally offended him.
“This is too bright.”
“It’s sky blue,” Ruhi argued. “Not neon.”
Riya nodded. “He looks like he’s allergic to color.”
Aditya added, “Honestly, he dresses like he owns the color black.”
Aayansh shot them a warning look. “All of you out.”
“No,” Aarav said cheerfully. “This is entertainment.”
They forced Aayansh into the trial room with an armful of clothes.
Ten minutes later, he stepped out wearing a white shirt with a soft beige jacket.
The entire group went quiet.
Ruhi froze.
Then she smiled slow, soft, and completely smitten.
“Oh,” she whispered. “You look… really good.”
Aayansh looked at her. “You like it?”
She nodded. “A lot.”
That alone made it worth it.
Until Aarav ruined the moment.
“Wow,” he said. “So this is what happens when Aayansh agrees to be human.”
Aayansh threw a pillow at him.
Next came colors he never thought he’d wear.
Olive green. Soft brown. Even maroon.
With every outfit, Ruhi’s excitement grew.
She kept fixing his collar, adjusting his sleeves, stepping back to admire him like he was her personal masterpiece.
Aayansh pretended to be irritated, but inside he felt… light.
Happy.
Because every smile of hers was worth it.
After buoys shopping was over it was time for the girls.
They also tried clothes, Ruhi also tried a dress even though she wasn’t going but who needs an occasion to buy new clothes.
She stepped out in a simple dress, and Aayansh forgot how to breathe.
Riya noticed immediately and smirked. “Look at him,” she whispered. “He’s gone.”
Ruhi walked up to him nervously. “Is it okay?”
He nodded once. “You’re not changing.”
She smiled shyly. “Good.”
By the end of the shopping trip, Aayansh was exhausted, holding multiple bags, his patience hanging by a thread.
“This was supposed to be a date,” he muttered.
Ruhi leaned in and kissed his cheek softly. “It still is.”
His irritation melted instantly.
Maybe he hated shopping. Maybe he hated crowds.
But with Ruhi beside him even chaos felt perfect.
