Ruhanika’s POV
I had just come back from the mall. I dropped all the shopping bags on the couch and threw myself onto the bed. Shopping was so exhausting! I actually hate it, but how could I say no to Bhabhi, Riya Bhabhi, and her friends?
Still lying on the bed, I sighed. “Ugh, I don’t even have the strength to freshen up.” Finally, dragging myself up, I walked into the bathroom.
A few hours later, I was getting ready for the club. Shrey had called me earlier my best friend. But don’t tell him I said that. He’ll never let me live it down. He practically blackmailed me into going with him.
When I reached the club, I called him. He came out, waving wildly. Pulling me into a hug, he said, “Welcome back, baby doll!”
“Stop calling me that, Dodo,” I smacked his shoulder.
“Ouch!” He fake cried, making us both laugh, before dragging me inside.
We met his friends, had a few drinks, danced, and I was actually enjoying myself. While talking to Shrey, my phone rang. It was Aditya Bhai. I excused myself and picked up.
“Are you in the club?” he asked immediately.
“Yeah why?”
“Come here. I’m at the back with my friends.”
I spotted him soon, sitting with his group. “Hi,” I greeted them all politely. They returned it with smiles. Turning to Bhai, I whispered, “What happened?”
He gave me the look. “What are you doing here? Does anyone at home know?”
“Relax. I told Rishabh Bhai, and besides Varun Bhai is also here.”
Before he could lecture me further, I slipped away back to Shrey. He pulled me to the dance floor again. As we danced, I suddenly felt eyes on me. I looked around, but couldn’t figure out who it was.
A while later, Bhai returned and said, “Let’s go. My friends are leaving.”
I hugged Shrey goodbye and left with him.
Back home, I freshened up and headed to the kitchen. There, Rishabh Bhai was scolding Parth and Rahul, while Aditya Bhai leaned against the counter, clearly amused.
“Why are you scolding them?” I asked.
“They went out without informing anyone and got into a fight,” Rishabh Bhai said sharply.
I turned to look at Parth and Rahul. Both had bruises on their faces and arms. They gave me pleading looks. I sighed, grabbed the first-aid kit, and made them sit. While treating them, I asked, “Why did you fight?”
“They were harassing a girl at the restaurant,” Rahul admitted. “So we did what we thought was right.”
Rishabh’s anger softened instantly. “I’ve been asking you both for so long, but you kept quiet. The moment Ruhi asks, you answer right away.”
Parth and Rahul smiled sheepishly.
“Fine,” Rishabh smirked. “As punishment, both of you will clean all the cars in the garage.” With that, he walked away, Aditya following him, still mocking the two.
“Why did we still get punished?” Parth groaned.
“Because you sneaked out and got into a fight. Bhai isn’t punishing you for fighting but for being reckless. And also for letting yourselves get beaten up.” I patted their shoulders. “Good luck!”
Then, I headed to my room.
…
Later, I was working on my laptop, finishing office tasks and planning my schedule. When I finally shut it down, I grabbed my phone. A new Instagram notification popped up. Aayansh Singhaniya followed me.
I checked his profile. Not many posts. But one caught my eye, a gym selfie showing off his abs. My lips curled into a smile. “Hmm banda hot to hai.”{ “Hmm… I can’t deny he looks hot.” }
I followed him back. Moments later, I noticed a message from him. As I tried to read it, my phone slipped and smacked me on the face. “Ouch!” I groaned, clutching my nose, then hurriedly picked it up.
The message was simple, but it made me laugh. “He’s cute,” I whispered to myself. I liked the message and replied:
Hii,Aayansh. Don’t worry, I don’t think you’re stalking me. Good night.
Still giggling like a fool, I placed my phone aside. But sleep was nowhere near. I couldn't stop thinking about a certain someone.
……
I slowly opened my eyes when I felt someone jumping on my bed. To my surprise, it was him. I quickly stood up and pulled him into a hug.
“I missed you, baby.”
“I missed you too, Ani,” he said, showering my face with kisses. I did the same, making him giggle.
“Are you going to give all your attention and love to him only, or do you still have some love left for me?”
I turned around and saw Bhabhi, Avni Rishabh Raichand, standing at my door with her hands on her hips. I ran to her and hugged her tightly.
“Bhabhi, I missed you so much!”
“Miss you ki bachi,” she said, twisting my ear playfully. “Ab jaakar yaad aayi hai tumhe hamari?”{ “You little brat,” she said, twisting my ear playfully. “Now you remember us?” }
“Leave Ani’s ear, Mumma!” my baby said, trying to glare at her but looking too adorable to be taken seriously.
“Acha beta, ab tu apni maa ko batayega ki kya karna hai? Ruk… abhi main batati hoon.”{“Oh wow, son! Now you want to teach your mother what to do? Hold on… I’ll handle you right now.”
}
She started chasing him around the room. Ayan (her son, my little partner in crime) came running and hid behind me, sticking his tongue out at her.
“Tu kya uske piche chhup raha hai? Tere saath-saath aaj uski bhi class lene wali hoon main,” she warned.{ “Why are you hiding behind her? I’m going to give her a piece of my mind along with you today,” she warned. }
I gulped dramatically. “Beta, agar jaan bachani hai toh… bhaago!”{ “Kid, if you want to save your life… run!” }
Both of us sprinted out of the room with Bhabhi chasing behind. We dashed towards the dining area where everyone was already sitting.
I hid behind Rishabh Bhai, breathless. “Bhai, save us from your wife!”
“Yes, Dad, save us from your wife. She’s trying to kill your two sweet little babies!” Ayan added.
“Aww, sweet little babies? If your dad saves you, then who will save him from me?” Bhabhi smirked. “So, Rishabh, I’ll count till 5. If you don’t move, then you will”
Before she could even finish, Bhai quickly stepped aside.
“Bhai! Dad!” Ayan and I whined in unison.
“Bhai, at least you could have waited till she finished counting!” I pouted.
“Sorry, princess. I don’t want to sleep on the couch tonight,” Bhai said, holding his ears in mock apology.
Everyone burst into laughter at the scene.
“It’s enough now. Ani, go freshen up and come for breakfast,” Choti Maa said gently.I nodded, and left.
I came back after getting freshed and started having breakfast. As Bhabhi put one more paratha on my plate, I glanced at Bhabhi and muttered, “Bhabhi, bas ho gaya aur kitna khilaogi mujhe?”{“Bhabhi, that’s enough… how much more are you going to feed me?”}
“Abhi toh tune sirf do parathe khaye hain. Itna toh Ayan bhi kha leta hai!” she said, placing another paratha on my plate.{“You’ve only eaten two parathas so far. Even Ayan eats that much!”}
“Yes, Ani, you should eat more!” Ayan said proudly, trying to add one of his parathas onto my plate.
Bhabhi gave him a sharp glare, and he immediately pulled his plate back, munching quietly again.
Somehow I finished my breakfast and left for the office.
…
At the office
I was working when my door opened. My secretary rushed behind, apologizing, but I waved him off. The intruder was none other than Aayansh.
He sat across from me casually.
“Hello, Ms. Rajvansh. Or should I say Ruhi?”
“Hello, Mr. Singhaniya. What do I owe this unexpected visit?”
“Call me Aayansh. I wanted to discuss the project. I hope I didn’t disturb you.”
“Not at all. Go on.”
He glanced at his watch. “Actually, it’s almost lunch. Why don’t we talk over food? There’s a new restaurant I’ve been wanting to try.”
I thought for a moment, then smiled. “I don’t mind. Let’s go.”
He stood, opening the door for me. I walked past with a polite, “Thank you.”
And just like that, we left together.
